  • San Diego teachers could start vaccinations as soon as the end of February. San Diego Board of Supervisor Chair Nathan Fletcher said he’s optimistic the county will move into the next tier in the next two to three weeks, meaning teachers, law enforcement and food/agriculture workers will be eligible for vaccinations. Right now, healthcare workers and people older than 65 are eligible but he said as soon as the demand for appointments is not as high, that will be when we move to the next tier. Of course it also depends on how many doses the county gets.
  • The search for the missing mom from San Diego, Maya Millette has shifted to miles away from San Diego. Maya has been missing for six weeks and now the family is shifting their search to the Glamis Sand Dunes which are about 150 miles east of San Diego. Her brother-in-law said  “We might have been given a little hint that she might have been out there the day she went missing. They plan to search the area this weekend.

  • According to a new study, 40% of Americans are skipping Valentine’s Day this year in order to save money and it’s the men that are suggesting to do so. But if you’re a man and might want to suggest this, be careful because women are twice as likely to be upset if their partner didn't recognize the day in some way. And Speaking of relationships, has this quarantine aged your relationship?? OH yes it has!! According to a new study, one year of quarantining together is the same as being together FOUR regular years. 59% of couples say the pandemic has been the ultimate test of their relationship . . . and they haven't been on a date in an average of five-and-a-half months.
  • Expect a lot of engagements this Valentine’s Day! Christmas may be the most popular time of year to get engaged, however Valentine’s Day is the most romantic day to get engaged. Approximately 6 million couples will be getting engaged on Sunday. 36% of people said Valentine’s Day was the most romantic day to get engaged. And 40% of guys said it was the most romantic day to pop the question. Valentine's Day is the latest holiday we have to navigate amid the coronavirus epidemic, when it's safer to keep distance from people who don't live with you. That can be even harder than it already is when the holiday is one that celebrates love, but CNN has some tips on what you can do, and there's always the choice of getting together outdoors, which is a lot safer. They include: 
    • Write and mail a handwritten letter.
    • Send a voice recording. 
    • Create a playlist of songs that remind you of your special someone.
    • Send a delivery of their favorite foods, maybe something romantic like wine or chocolate strawberries.
    • Ship a Valentine's Day care package with their favorite items. 
    • Schedule a Zoom call for a paint and wine night. 
    • Send something physically comforting, like a blanket or a stuffed animal to cuddle with. Consider spraying your perfume on it so it smells like you
