Carlsbad city leaders are considering beefing up enforcement of state and local public health orders including potentially implementing new fines for businesses defying the rules. The Carlsbad City Council is holding a special meeting today to decide whether to put a citation system into place. If the proposal passes, there could be fines ranging up to $500. The Village, in Carlsbad where several businesses and restaurants have been “peacefully protesting” public health rules by remaining open is still open as of now.

McDonalds is entering the Chicken Sandwich Wars!

McDonalds is finally joining in the fried chicken sandwich wars! McDonalds will be launching three new chicken sandwiches starting February 24th. First, they will debut their Crispy Chicken Sandwich, which will be topped with pickles on a potato roll. There'll also be the Spicy Chicken Sandwich, which adds a spicy pepper sauce, and the Deluxe Chicken Sandwich, which comes with lettuce, tomatoes and mayo.
