California Mask Requirements

California health officials have now made it a requirement to wear masks when you are outside of your home with a few exceptions. Youdo not have to wear face coverings if you are alone in a car or with household members; working alone in an office; if must wear respiratory protection; if you are obtaining a service that requires you remove your face covering; if you are actively eating or drinking or if you are outdoors and more than six feet from non-household members.

Children two years old and younger, people with medical or mental health conditions, hearing impaired or those communicating with someone who is don’t have to wear a mask.

California’s previous guidance issued in mid-June required individuals to wear face coverings only when they were in high-risk situations, such as inside of or waiting to enter any public indoor space, outdoors in public spaces and waiting for or taking public transportation.

Can’t Find Toilet Paper?

Speaking of this pandemic, this new surge of coronavirus cases is causing people to stockpile on toilet paper and other items again. Shelves are beginning to become bare some stores are putting limits on some items. The biggest supply issue is paper products (paper towels and toilet paper), followed by cleaning supplies. Walmart says they are having trouble keeping up with the demand for cleaning supplies. Amazon is sold out of most disinfectant wipes and paper towels. However, experts say it things won’t be as bad this time around since everyone is better prepared.

Chipotle Is Helping You During Cuffing Season!

Companies are getting creative during this pandemic. If you didn’t know, right now is cuffing season. Cuffing season isthat time of year when people look to be in a relationship during the holiday season and cold winter months . Chipotle is celebrating Cuffing Season. Twitter Introduces Fleets

In some non pandemic news, Twitter has introduced fleeting tweets – or “Fleets.” Fleets are similar to Instagram Stories that disappear in 24 hours. You can respond to fleets just like you can to IG Stories. The fleets will sit right at the top of the timeline in a row of Stories-like bubbles.  As of now, you can’t tell if someone screenshots one of your fleets. Fleets are available now.  Twitter also says they will be introducing stickers and live broadcasting at some point in the future.

SDSU Plans To Remain Virtual

Starting next week, San Diego State plans to shift most of their in person classes to virtual for the remainder of the fall semester due to the spike in coronavirus cases. Faculty are encouraged to start teaching classes online by Friday with all classes expected to be virtual no later than Nov. 25. They hope that by restricting the number of people returning to campus after the Thanksgiving holiday, it will help the spread of the virus.

Thanksgiving at Father Joes

Father Joe's Villages will be serving Thanksgiving meals 'to go' this year due to the pandemic. The meals will be given to people outdoors in their courtyard. And due to everything that’s gone on this year they are expecting to feed more people this year. They usually serve around 700 but this year they are prepared to serve close to a thousand. Anyone receiving a meal will also receive a backpack that comes with a face covering, hand sanitizer, and hygiene kits. And they usually have their annual 5K at Balboa Park which is their biggest fundraiser for the organization however this year it’s virtual and they say registration is down for the event.

Tracking Santa In 2020

And even though a lot of things are different this year due to the pandemic, the virus is not going to stop kids from tracking Santa Clause as he delivers gifts around the world on Christmas Eve.The North American Aerospace Defense Command has announced that NORAD will track Santa on Dec. 24, just as it has done for 65 years. But there will be some changes: Not every child will be able to get through to a volunteer at NORAD’s call center to check on Santa’s whereabouts, as they have in years before. Due to covid, they won’t have a lot of volunteers working to help out.  However, if you want to track Santa You can do that at noradsanta.org — as well as on their social media pages, Amazon Alexa, Onstar and a new mobile app will still be available with up-to-the-minute details on Santa’s location. The tracking Santa apps will soon be available on Google Play and the Apple App Store. You can call Santa’s toll-free number, 1-877-Hi-NORAD.
