Yesterday was Tuesday which means we got our report card. San Diego County will remain in the red, tier for at least another week. The county’s case rate is 6.5 new daily infections per 100,000 people, down from last week's 6.7. To move down to orange tier, a county must have a rate below 3.9 per 100,000 people. Of the almost 9000 tests reported we have a 14-day rolling average of 2.9%. Meanwhile, the Governor sent out a tweet yesterday that a lot of people have an opinion about. He tweeted, “Going out to eat with members of your household this weekend. Don't forget to keep your mask on in between bites.”
On user wrote, “Should we wash our hands after touching our mask each time we remove it between bites?
Another person said, “What if I'm eating chips and salsa and I go for a double dip? Is that technically two bites since it's the same chip.”
“Put mask back on between bites? Is that a typo,” another asked.
