A live web cam set high atop a tree in Big Bear, California is giving nature lovers a chance to observe a pair of bald eagles waiting for their two eggs hatch.

The first egg appeared on January 11, during a snow storm and a second egg appeared soon after. While the mother eagle stays with the nest adjusting the eggs and keeping them warn, her partner is seen flying off to catch fish and other food to feed her. Luckily the male eagle shares in the egg-sitting duties.

The eggs should hatch some time around Valentine's Day (February 14), which means mom will be on the nest for a number of weeks during Southern California's unusually cold and wet winter. Fortunately, the pair's nest has a stunning view of the lake and surrounding San Bernardino National forrest.

The web cam was installed by Friends of Big Bear Valley, who say thousands are visiting the video feed, which can be seen below or on their YouTube Channel.
