The IRS has extended the federal tax deadline in San Diego County until October.
Because of the strong storms in California to begin the year, and the FEMA disaster declarations, the IRS filing deadline has been moved back from April to May, and now to October 16th.
The Union Tribune says this applies to estimated payments and IRA contributions, but not state taxes, which are still due at the previous time.
There are dozens of counties in California where a disaster has been declared and residents are eligible, including San Diego.
In addition, the middle class, or gas price relief payments, from the state last year will also not be taxed by the federal government.
