California is debating raising jury duty pay to 100 dollars a day for some people.
The current pay is 15 dollars a day, but CBS News says the state is considering raising it to a 100 dollars a day since many people have to miss work to serve.
Assemblymember Phil Ting is introducing Assembly Bill 881, which would give some jurors 100 dollars day.
"Folks who are unemployed, people who are self-employed, or people who their job will not pay for them to serve on a jury," said Ting.
