A 'Triple Dip' La Niña is expected to happen throughout the rest of 2022 and could linger into 2023.
That means La Niña has gone through 3 winters in a row in the Northern Hemisphere.
The National Weather Service predicts a 90% chance of La Niña conditions in September and November.
The NWS expects that rate to drop to 54% in January and March of 2023.
Experts with The World Meteorlogical Association says La Niña conditions are widespread cooling of the water's surface in the central and eastern equatorial Pacific Ocean.
