Three current and former San Diego State football players are being accused of gang raping a 17 year old girl last year, and the names include former All-American punter Matt Araiza.
Araiza, who was 21 at the time of the suspected incident, is now in the NFL, drafted by the Buffalo Bills, who just named him their starter, after a unanimous All-American career at SDSU.
He is now being named in a civil case, a lawsuit filed by a woman who is now 18, but was 17 at the time she says she was gang raped by several San Diego State football players in October of last year.
This is the first time any of the players, including the five initially investigated, are being named.
The LA Times says the lawsuit was filed in San Diego Superior Court against Araiza, another former player, and one current player, with the civil suit saying Araiza had sex with the underage girl outside his home on Rockford Drive, and then brought her inside a room where the men took turns raping her.
San Diego Police have investigated the case, and turned it over to the District Attorney to decide on possible criminal charges.
The LA Times is also publishing details of the young woman's journal after the suspected incident.
