A viral video posted over the weekend by the user favor-town shows a pair of sea lions chasing a crowd of people off the beach in La Jolla Cove, in the half-circle seawall area known as the Children's Pool.
The spot was built in 1932, and was originally meant to be a place for kids to swim while being protected from oncoming waves.
It was instead taken over by sea lions, typically from May through July, and is used by the animals to bathe, baske and breed.
The video on TikTok has amassed over one-million likes, and has been played nearly ten-million times.
Despite the sea lions aggressive approach, no injuries have been reported.
