Earlier today Governor Gavin Newsom announced that the state would stop requiring residents to wear a mask on June 15.
During an interview with Fox anchor Elex Michaelson the Governor was asked whether or not people would be wearing masks after June 15.
"No, only in those settings that are indoor... Only in those massively large settings where people from around the world, not just around the country, are convening and where people are mixing in real dense spaces," Newsom replied. "Otherwise we'll make guidance, recommendations but no mandates."
This news comes as California continues to see lower COVID-19 rates.
