Walmart's Great Value Frozen Sausage Patties Recalled Due to Salmonella

About 6,500 pounds of Great Value sausage patties were recalled from Walmart after a small batch tested positive for salmonella.

The Great Value frozen sausage patties, produced by George's Prepared Foods in Tennesse confirmed that some of the batches did test positive for salmonella, which can cause vomiting, nausea, diarrhea and abdominal pain for days.

This includes both 24.92-ounce packages AND 35.6-ounce packages of Great Value Fully Cooked Original Breakfast Turkey Patties and Family Size Great Value Fully Cooked Original Pork Sausage Patties that were produced and packaged between April 19 and May 9, 2019 and has a best if used by dates between October 16 and November 5, 2019. The lot codes are 1091971894, 1171971897, 1271972894, and 1291972894 and have an establishment number EST. M2206T or P-2260T on the packaging. If you have any of these packages, please bring them back to Walmart for a full refund.

Luckily, no one has been hospitalized.

According to the US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), the infected units were supposed to be disposed of but were accidentally shipped to stores.
