Olivia Huerta was a social science substitute teacher during the first half of 2018 at Sam Rayburn High School in Pasadena, Texas when she had a one-night stand with a 16-year-old student. The student shared with a friend about the encounter, who then told detectives. When investigated, the student told authorities that he had exchanged several text and Snapchat messages and then walked with the teacher to her parent's home to have sex.
Huerta was arrested on her 23rd birthday and is facing a 2nd-degree felony charge of having an improper relationship with a student, and sexual assault of a child. Her bond was set at $40,000.
