A recent report revealed the most expensive zip codes in the United States and it turns out that Sagaponack, New York in Long Island, located 100 miles east of New York City took home the title of Most Expensive Zip Code with an average cost of $850K to live there near the beach. Median home prices in the area average around $7 million bucks!
Rounding off at number 2 is Beverly Hills, California (90210) with around $690K cost of living and an average $5.5 million home price.
Third place went to Alpine, New Jersey with a $499K cost of living. Fourth place went to Fisher Island, Florida (near Miami Beach) with a cost of living around $452K a year. Sixth place is Aspen, Colorado with a $380K yearly cost of living.
How did they rank these zip codes?
Researchers averaged the housing costs and included data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics on the cost of living in the area.
