45-year-old Michael Aliperti, of Huntington, Long Island was arrested for allegedly threatening to shoot an 11-year-old boy after he lost to him while playing "Fortnite"
Aliperti sent Xbox voice messages and texts to the boy on Monday night threatening to shoot him at his home and his school. That's when things went downhill for him.
Security at the boy's school, RJO Middle School in Kings Park, was beefed up just in case on Tuesday. Authorities arrested the man at his home around 1:40 a.m. and charged him with second-degree aggravated harassment and acting in a manner to injure a child.
Aliperti is a father of 3 and owns a landscaping business. He is also going through a divorce, which could explain his stressed-out and short-tempered behavior.
This is a reminder to parents and adults alike to never give your name, phone number or contact info to strangers. Parents should take precaution and pay attention to their kids' gaming.
