Student Missing After Lyft Ride

Mackenzie Lueck, SLC police department

Mackenzie Lueck, 23, requested a LYFT ride from the airport on Monday, June 17 around 1 AM but was dropped off 8 miles away from her home near North Salt Lake, Utah and hasn't been heard from since.

The University of Utah student had just arrived in Salt Lake City after attending her grandmother's funeral in El Segundo, California, where she is originally from. Authorities don't know if she was dropped off at a house that belonged to someone she knew or not.

Since Lueck went missing, she had missed out on a midterm, a wedding, and work. Her friends find it odd and do not believe she would just leave on her own and abandon her cat at home like that.

The Salt Lake City Police Department is not revealing any details since the investigation is still ongoing. So far, the Lyft driver has been cleared of any wrongdoing and is being cooperative with authorities.
