Foul ball hits a young girl at the Cubs-Astros game, baseball player distraught
Chicago Cubs player, Albert Almora Jr., hit a foul ball 10 feet past the netting into the field-level seats near the 3rd base at Astros' Minute Maid Park. The ball hit a young girl in the crowd. The entire stadium went silent. Almora was devastated as he quickly took a knee and covered his face in tears after realizing what had happened.
The little girl appeared to be conscious and was taken to the hospital.
After the incident, Almora, a father of 2 young children himself, expressed that he wanted to have a relationship with this little girl for the rest of his life.
Major League Baseball intends to extend the protective netting all the way to the dugout in all 30 ballparks.
