Actress Beverly Owen, 81, best known for her role as Marilyn Munster on The Munsters, has passed away
Her death was confirmed by her co-star, Butch Patrick, 65, who played Eddie Munster.
“Beautiful Beverly Owen has left us,” Patrick wrote. “What a sweet soul. I had the biggest crush on her. RIP Bev and thanks for your 13 memorable Marilyn Munster episodes.”
Beverly Owen's daughter, Polly Stone confirmed with TMZ that her mother was battling ovarian cancer and was surrounded by friends and family at her home in Vermont. Owen was diagnosed with the disease in January 2017 but her family decided to keep it private from the public.
Owen starred in 13 episodes and left the show to marry Emmy Award-winning producer and director Jon Stone. Stone helped create “Sesame Street” and had a role in creating Big Bird, Cookie Monster, and Oscar the Grouch. Owen's character was later played by actress Pat Priest after the 1st season.
