Apples That Last Up To a Year in Fridge Goes on Sale in United States

Cosmic Crisp claim that their apples stays crunchy and 'lasts for up to a year in the fridge'

If you're a fan of apples you're in for a treat. There's a new apple in town that claims to last for up to a year in your refrigerator. The company has been hard at work at Washington State University for the past 20 years since 1997, breeding the perfect apple that's tart, high in acidity, sweet, juicy, packs about 72 calories each, and of course... crisp. Over 12 million apple trees were planted and cost the State of Washington about $10 million to create the apple. Currently, the apples are licensed to Washington farmers for the next 10 years.

The apples are currently available in Seattle. There's no reason we won't be seeing these apples in stores across the U.S., especially since it has such a long 'fridge' life.
