Actress Kristen Bell Reveals She Takes Meds for Anxiety and Depression

The Good Place and Frozen 2 actress who's known for always being upbeat on camera, Kristen Bell, revealed on TODAY that she currently takes medication for depression and anxiety.

She stated that most people feel that there's a shame in admitting that they're living with mental health disorders and that there shouldn't be.

According to the National Institutes of Health, approximately 17 million adults in the United States have at least 1 depression episode a year. Depression is a continued feeling of sadness and is a mood disorder that affects a person's day-to-day life and occurs 1 and a half times more likely in women than men between 18-25, for which, there is no known cure and is treated with medication or therapy.

Bell credits her husband Dax Shepard for helping her come to terms with her depression and talking about it.
