Rob Lowe jokes about his 1980s sex tape scandal and says he regrets the timing, not the tape itself.
Back in 1988, actor Rob Lowe filmed himself having sex with an underage woman, which he didn't find out about her age until later. The tape was filmed the week he went to promote democratic runners, Michael Dukakis at the Democratic National Convention.
Lowe eventually settled out of court with the underage girl’s family. At the time, a sex tape release was extremely shunned upon and actually sort of hurt Lowe's career.
He recently appeared on the “WTF Podcast with Marc Maron” and joked about how his career would've benefited from a sex tape had it been released 20 years later. He felt that he would've been able to capitalize on it the way Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton did.
