Adopt Garfield at Helen Woodward Animal Center

Garfield is a four year old orange tabby who weighs a wopping 19 pounds! Despite his monstrous frame, this lasagna loving, Monday hating guy is incredibly cuddly. He LOVES being held which gives our staff and volunteers quite the workout! He’s also quite fond of taking fat naps.

Garfield came to us from one of our Los Angeles based rescue partners. He was found abandoned on the streets of Long Beach last year, scared, confused, and alone. The lack of a clipped ear – as well as the fact he was neutered – indicates he was most likely someone’s pet, but he lacked a microchip. Our partner held onto Garfield for almost a year and put the word out that he was found, but no one came to claim him. Seeking to free up space in their own cat condos, they asked if we would take the big boy and do what we can to find him a home.

Garfield has been with the Center for a little over a month now and EVERYONE has fallen in love with him. We look forward to sending him home with his forever family!
