A California trail has been nominated for a spot on USA Today's 10 best trails. "Over the course of the last two years, many people have looked for more ways to get active in the great outdoors. Thanks to an ever-growing network of recreational trails across the country, staying active is easier than ever," reads the website.

For their Readers' Choice 2022 awards, Jedediah Smith Memorial Trail in Sacramento is up for Best Recreational Trail. Here's what USA Today had to say about the trail:

"The Jedediah Smith Memorial Trail (a.k.a. the American River Bike Trail) is a popular, paved trail in Sacramento for outdoor recreation and also commuting around town. In fact, many residents use this 32-mile trail as their main path for transportation. It’s recognized as one of the nation’s longest, paved bike-specific paths in the nation. The trail will bring you all the way from downtown Sacramento (the Sacramento River) to the city of Folsom (specifically, Folsom Lake)."

There are less than 20 days left to get your votes in. To vote for the Jedediah Smith Memorial trail click here. The results will be announced on Friday, April 22.
