Look up to the skies tomorrow (May 15, 2020) starting at noon as the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds fly from one end of San Diego county to the other in honor of frontline workers and Covid-19 responders. The Thunderbirds have made their flightpath available (see below) and plan to conduct their signature flight formation starting at 12:00 noon in Chula Vista, continuing north to cover Oceanside and Fallbrook by about 12:25 pm (times are subject to change).
San Diegans are asked to observe the flyover from the safety of their home and should refrain from traveling to see the flyover. Please avoid larger gatherings and please maintain social distancing even if you watch from your neighborhood block.
The Thunderbirds Squadron tours the United States and much of the world, performing aerobatic formation and solo flying in specially marked aircraft. The squadron's name is taken from the legendary creature that appears in the mythologies of several indigenous North American cultures.
