That is the new sign up about 20 miles north of Ann Arbour, Michigan all thanks to Youtuber Elijah Daniel.
Youtuber Elijah Daniel has pulled a lot of stunts since he started creating content, but his latest act as Mayor of Hell has a lot of people talking.
Daniel purchased Hell, Michigan, for Pride Month and used the opportunity to rename the town Gay Hell.
Gay Hell, which is about 20 miles northwest of Ann Arbor, has been on sale for years. Daniel says he can't disclose how much he paid to be mayor for two weeks as he is in the process of purchasing the town permanently.
In 2017, Daniel was also Mayor of Hell and banned heterosexual people in the town as a stunt.
He says that his first act as owner this time was to only allow pride flags after the Trump administration put aban on embassies flying pride flags.
First off... I Didn't even know you could buy towns and cities in the United States... Like this is a major game changer. I thought I was working hard to make money just to have it... Now I'm working my booty off to make money so I can buy a town. Imagine being able to rename a city after whatever you wanted. I'm genuinely shocked more and more rich people aren't doing this. You have a girl you want to impress... Buy New York City and name it after her. What is LA? Nah that's Ethan Coleville now. Sure, Elijah Daniel is doing it to raise awareness for something important and I can appreciate that but I feel like he's really just changed the game altogether. Now how much does it cost to buy a town....
It was not clear how much he paid for the town in Livingston County, but Hell has previously been on the market for up to $1.3million. For a time, the town’s unofficial mayor John Colone – who was seen negotiating the sale with Daniel – also listed the asking price as a sinister-sounding $999,666.
1.3 million????? For a town of 70 people???? Alright there will have to be some negotiations there but I'm still on board!
