Justin Bieber is unsurprisingly backing his manager Scooter Braun with the March for Our Lives petition, as per a Saturday night (March 3) tweet, which saw the pop titan urge his followers to "help these kids and sign their petition now."
Just last week, TMZ discovered that Braun and George Clooney were just a few of the heavyweights affiliated with the anti-gun movement. In addition to his tweet, the 24-year-old included a link to the March for Our Lives petition, which was created by students and asks elected officials to pass a law to ban the sale of assault weapons, prohibit the sale of high-capacity magazines and close loopholes in background checks that allow "dangerous people who shouldn't be allowed to purchase firearms to slip through the cracks." March for Our Lives started as a response to the February mass shooting that took 17 lives at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland after a former student opened fire. At time of press, 142,588 people had signed the petition.
Bieber is just the latest celebrity to show his support for the movement behind fellow pop star Harry Styles, who recently jumped on board and urged folks to do so the same. "I just signed the @AMarch4OurLives petition, and you should too," he tweeted.
It'll all culminate on March 24 when hundreds of events around the country band together to push for the movement alongside a Washington D.C march. The peaceful demonstration is set "to demand that their lives and safety become a priority and that we end this epidemic of mass school shootings."
