Elliot Stapleton-Giddins, 18, of Stony Stratford, Buckinghamshire, hung himself after his mom texted about having to pay rent
Before he took his own life, Elliot texted his girlfriend, Lily Avril and mentioned that he was extremely upset. He was never officially diagnosed with mental health issues, but according to court documents, he did complain about feeling depressed prior to his death.
According to his stepfather, Tim Stapleton, Elliot may have felt bad about bullying others at school. "I think he was bullied and I remember him saying to me that the situation had changed and that he was now the bully to some people and he had felt very bad about that," said Tim.
Elliot worked at a restaurant and was making a good salary. He mother insists that making him pay rent wasn't about the money, but about learning to be more responsible.
