2 Chinese provinces a few hours away from Wuhan near Hubei have been hit with the bird flu
Almost 2,000 chickens died recently due to the H5N6 bird flu around Xichong in Nanchong City located in Sichuan, China according to the Chinese agricultural authority. Over 4,000 chickens in Hunan had died due to the H5N1 bird flu. According to the NHS, both strains of the bird flu are capable of transitioning from animals to humans.
China is currently fighting the infamous coronavirus which has killed almost 1,000 people around the world. The virus, which affects animals and people and is similar to SARS, MERS, also known as COVID-19 and is believed to have originated from bats, can spread through the air when someone sneezes or coughs, or through saliva.
One thing to point out is that the common flu, influenza, does infect more people globally than the coronavirus. The key difference here is that the coronavirus has no vaccine, yet.
