Here's How Much and When Tolls Will Be Collected At The Otay Border

The U.S. and Mexico sign an agreement to split toll money from the new border crossing in San Diego.

After a vote in San Diego earlier this month, the official agreement has been signed in Mexico City, with the two countries splittling approximately $7 billion in toll revenue from the new Otay Mesa East port of entry over the next 40 years.

San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria, the vice-chair of the San Diego Association of Governments, says the plan will improve border wait times and cut down on emissions from waiting cars.

The new Otay Mesa East port of entry is set to open in 2024.
