Imperial County, east of San Diego, is now in the "most vulnerable" category for to extreme heat, according to the federal government.
The Biden administration has launched a new website, heat.gov, which includes maps and forecasts showing how high temperatures and economic factors will impact each area of the country.
Fox 5 San Diego says the government maps combines data from NOAA on future heat events with the CDC’s Social Vulnerability Index, which evaluates a community’s vulnerability to poverty, disability, housing and transportation issues.
The 10 counties named “most vulnerable,” all are in the South, Texas, and Imperial County in California.
