California residents could soon pay an extra fee when buying wine or spirits in bottles.
This is an effort to get more people to recycle in the state.
Currently bottles and cans of soda and beer cost an extra penny to ten cents
It would mandate the same deposit be paid by consumers for all alcoholic drinks beginning in January 2023.
It would include hard liquor and wine sold in glass, plastic, aluminum, and box containers.
