San Diego Bomb Squad Finds Suspicious Package and Tracker On Woman's Car

Authorities have discovered a suspected tracking device and two bundles of powder, possibly drugs, attached to a woman's car in San Diego.

Fox 5 San Diego says the woman took her SUV to a Jiffy Lube, saying there was odd smoke coming from under the car.

Police say mechanics found two powder-filled bundles taped to the underside of the vehicle.

As a precaution, the packages led to a bomb squad investigation that shut down a block of downtown San Diego near 10th Avenue and B Street in the Cortez Hill neighborhood.

In the past, federal authorities have warned U.S. residents that they can become unknowing drug mules when they visit Mexico, especially if they get a minor auto repair while south of the border.
