Are Social Distance Lanyard Sensors the Way of the Future? Watch

Are social distance lanyard sensors the way of the future for schools? They might be! Schools are testing out how to safely resume class amid the pandemic and one in Oxnard, Our Lady of Guadalupe School, shared with ABC7 via Skype what they’re planning to do this fall.

Sisanie shared on-air that school is just three weeks away for some families and our Lady of Guadalupe School in Oxnard is going to try special lanyards that the students would wear that would light up and give off a sound whenever they were within 6 feet of another lanyard (!!!)

While these could come in handy for younger kids who aren’t able to be as responsible, it leads to a number of other questions including what about after school activities? How do you do recess? And what about classes that require interaction like science labs and theatre?

Watch back the on-air moment above to hear the sound the lanyards make and for the team's opinion on the matter. Sound off on social with your own thoughts too @OnAirWithRyan
