DJ Criz Needs Your Help! The MITO 5k Safari Run / Walk

DJ Criz's High School Spanish teacher Ms. Christina is hosting an event benefiting a great cause, but we need your help San Diego!

Ms. Christina is part of The UC San Diego Mitochondrial Disease Research Fund, a nonprofit organization made up of families and loved ones affected by mitochondrial disorders.

The Mitochondrial Research Fund at UC San Diego Health is proud to announce the seventh annual Mito Safari 5K Run and Walk on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at San Diego’s historic Liberty Station. Proceeds will benefit the Mitochondrial and Metabolic Disease Center at UC San Diego Health. According to the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation, every 30 minutes a child is born who will develop a mitochondrial disease—and only half will live past their 10th birthday. Mitochondrial dysfunction has been linked to afflictions such as cancer, autism, diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, infertility, and obesity.

We can change this, but we need your help. As this exciting event approaches, we invite you to take advantage of the opportunities to help change thousands of community lives through your support.

Your support will bring us closer to reaching our ambitious goals in the fight against mitochondrial disease and dysfunction.

To make a contribution/sponsor this event please contact Christina Whaley at 619-823-9394 or mitoresearchfund@gmail.com

By sponsoring this event, you will touch the lives of people in our community and around the world as we seek a cure for mitochondrial disease.
