- The third winter storm this week has arrived in San Diego County! There is already heavy rain along with the possibility of snow in the mountains. The heaviest rainfall is expected early this morning with scattered showers into the afternoon. A flash flood watch will be in effect through this afternoon. in coastal areas, the western valleys and the mountains. And a winter storm advisory will also be in effect from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday in mountain locales above 5,000 feet.
- The city of San Diego is resuming parking enforcement today. They had stopped giving out parking tickets however that is now finished. There is a two week grace period though.
- From Jan. 29 through Feb. 7, the city will issue written warnings for vehicles parked in violation of:
- -- Posted street sweeping routes
- -- Metered parking restrictions
- -- Curb time limits
- -- Yellow commercial zones
- Citations will continue to be issued for vehicles parked illegally at red, white, and blue painted curbs. Starting Feb. 8, citations with fines will be issued.

- So you’ve probably seen all the hype on social media about stocks and Gamestop and AMC and Robinhood and are probably completely clueless. So this is what happened. A group on reddit named “wallstreetbets” told everyone to go buy Gamestop and AMC stock on a specific day. The idea went viral on tiktok and everyone was in for it. So everyone goes on this app called Robinhood (which is a stock trading app) and does this and the stock prices shot way up despite the fact that Gamestop and AMC are not doing well. So all these normal people started making a whole bunch of money! This caused Wall Street Hedge Funds to have to also buy the stocks however the hedge funds had shorted the stocks, meaning they borrowed the shares from the owners, planning to return them at a later date at a lower price. So now they were forced to buy them back at an increasingly higher price. It was pretty much an eff you to the rich hedge fund people. Well then yesterday the app Robinhood and other trading apps stopped the trading of those shares which got people upset saying this is just another way the rich control everything etc. And of course after they halted trading of those shares, AMC and GameStop shares both plummeted in price, about 50% at the close today.
- You’ve Been Storing Milk in the Fridge Wrong! If your milk goes bad faster than you can use it, it’s definitely possible that you’ve been storing it in your fridge wrong. This might blow your mind, but, apparently, you should never store your milk in the door of the fridge. Turns out it's the warmest spot in the fridge, and even though the milk carton fits perfectly in the door, it should actually be stored on a lower shelf in the back, where it’s coldest. The door should be reserved for food items that aren’t quite as sensitive to temperature as milk, because with all the opening and closing of the fridge door, those items heat up a whole lot faster. Who knew?
