Things That Matter With Geena The Latina May 27th

***San Diego County can now reopen barbershops and hair salons. They have to practice the new safety protocol. Businesses will need to ensure as much distancing among customers and employees as possible, require everyone inside the store to wear masks, and employ rigorous cleaning and training practices. Appointments are encouraged, the waiting area will be off limits, and barbers will allow extra time in between appointments to sanitize all their tools. Other suggestions include temperature checks for employees and customers before they can enter, staggering appointments, leaving the doors open, and closing communal spaces. The governor said the state would need more time to consider how nail salons and other beauty services can reopen safely.

***More DMV field offices are set to reopen Thursday.

The following field offices in San Diego County will reopen:

Chula Vista

El Cajon

Poway

San Diego – Clairemont

San Ysidro

The Hillcrest (Normal Street) and San Marcos field offices reopened earlier this month.

The field offices will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except Wednesday, when they will open at 9 a.m.

Don't Throw It Away! IRS Stimulus Card Payments Arriving in Plain Envelopes

***If you've received a pre-paid debit card with a note that it's your federal stimulus payment, it's legit. The BBB says they've been getting a lot of calls about people reporting alleged bunk cards but the government moved the payments to cards to get the money out faster.

Also, the IRS has noted on their website that the Economic Impact Payment Card will arrive to your mailbox in a plain envelope reading "Money Network Cardholder Services". Here's hoping you won't be knee deep in a dumpster hunting down your money.

How did you receive your relief payment?
