A man kept his dead mother's body at home in order to collect her pension
Katsuyoshi Nabata, 78, of Honshu, Japan, kept his mother, who died in her 90s, in her bedroom for 11 months after her passing in order to continue collecting her pension payments. He never reported her death to Japanese authorities.
When Nabata's 47-year-old son came by for a visit, he discovered his grandmother's decaying body in her bedroom and reported it. Katsuyoshi Nabata has been detained by police.
