Disney Studios raked in $7.67 billion so far in 2019, beating it's 2016 record of $7.61 billion, thanks to 5 movies released: Avengers: Endgame, Aladdin, Captain Marvel, Toy Story 4 and The Lion King.
All movies brought in over $900 million each. (Avengers: Endgame made history as the biggest blockbuster of ALL time with $2.79 billion) The figure includes profit made from overseas.
If you compare Disney's take vs the rest of the industry, that's about 45% of the $16 billion dollar movie pie worldwide. Not bad at all!
Looks like Disney isn't anywhere close to being done because they've still got Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Frozen 2, and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker all set to be released later this year. If all goes well, Disney could have a $9 billion year.
