Channel 933 and Evo Turf teamed up to Make Happiness Happen for family of a Chula Vista road rage victim by completing unfinished yard renovation
On November 27, 2018, Horace Williams, 36, was murdered by Rickey Smith, 60, in what was a heated road rage confrontation less than 2 miles from his home in Chula Vista. The incident happened after Williams dropped off his daughters at school. Williams was a father of 5 young daughters, including twins, who are allergic to grass.
Channel 933 listeners and Horace's brother, John, reached out to Kramer and Geena who then got in touch with Evo Turf USA who rallied their crews to help Make Happiness Happen. The crews donated their time and resources to help William's fiancee, Sasha Martinez and daughters have the backyard that he had dreamed of. On Saturday, April 6th, 2019, his backyard was completed thanks to the generosity of Evo Turf USA and the local San Diego community.
Nick Martinez of Evo Turf says, "It makes me so happy that a group of guys like this and a company such as Evo Turf can step up to the plate and give something to a family that really needs it."
A GoFundMe page was set up to help the family.
