It appears as if the saga around Katy Perry's impromptu smooch with American Idol contestant, Benjamin Glaze, who admitted that he wanted to wait until his first relationship to land his first kiss, is neverending, courtesy of her fellow judge Luke Bryan's new comments on the controversy during his appearance on The Morning Show.
"It's unfortunate that stuff like that turns into a story that big," the 41-year-old country singer revealed during his interview on the Australian talk show. "I watched an actual interview where Ben, the kid that was involved, you know, he said that he was cool with everything. I gotta back Katy on that. She's in there working hard and making fun TV."
In case you've been living under a rock, you know that Glaze's audition saw him mention that he never "kissed a irlg" before in reference to the singer's debut smash. Perry ended up pulling a fast one on the hopeful by tricking him into his first kiss. So, in an attempt to take control of the narrative, the aspiring singer hopped on his Instagram to share a lengthy note about the incident to clear the air.
"I am not complaining about the kiss, I am very honored and thankful to have been apart of American Idol," the 20-year-old admitted. "The main purpose for the show is to find stars and new music artist. I do wish I would have performed better in the moment. I should have picked another song to sing and calmed myself down regardless of the kiss. I should have been able to perform under pressure. I do not think I was sexually harassed by Katy Perry and I am thankful for the judges comments and critiques. I was uncomfortable in a sense of how I have never been kissed before and was not expecting it."
