Mother of 6 Dies Near Home After Visiting Premature Twins at Hospital

Katy Evans, a 37-year-old mother of six, was killed on her way home on Friday (10/6/2017) after visiting her premature twin babies.

Evans was on her way home after seeing her premature twin daughters, Hannah and Sarah, who were both only a few weeks old. Katy and her husband Jacob have four other children between the ages of 2 and 12 years old.

The twins are expected to go home from the hospital in less than 6 weeks.

According to a fundraiser page, “Katie couldn’t go a day without visiting her brand-new twin girls in the hospital.  She was a devoted mother, sister, and wife and will be immensely missed,”

Evans was only about a mile away from her home when the accident happened. She was hit by a 22-year-old driver who lost control after sideswiping another car. The unnamed woman was booked on suspicion of misdemeanor DUI. There may be other charges according to authorities.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Sgt. Dan Dantice stated, “They found alcohol containers in the vehicle.”
