Twitter Increasing Character Limit to 280

Sometimes, 140 characters just isn't enough

Twitter announced today that they're going to increase the character limit to 280 in a slow rollout plan just to test the waters.

It turns out, languages like Japanese, Chinese, and Korean are luckily enough to convey most of their sentences without even hitting the 140 character limit because you can double the amount of info into one character. That's not the case for English, Spanish, Portuguese, or French languages - which are forced to cram multiple characters in order to form single words.
