Katy dropped a new video on the same day as the release of Taylor's new song. Coincidence?
While everyone is getting ready for the big fight between Conor "The Notorious" McGregor vs. Floyd "Money" Mayweather this weekend... there's another battle of sorts between two veteran rivals in the music industry; Katy Perry and Taylor Swift.
On August 24, 2017, Katy Perry dropped her video for "Swish Swish" a few hours before Taylor Swift dropped her new song, "Look What You Made Me Do."
Let's get one thing out of the way, there may NOT really be any more beef between the two (supposedly) but maybe there's something underlying in the coincidental release date of the two songs.
This certainly wasn't the first time that two artists had a "battle." Back in 2007, Kanye West and 50 Cent released their albums on the same 'September 11th' weekend. Kanye's Graduation sold about 800k copies versus 50 Cent's Curtis which moved about 600k in its first six days of sales. 50 Cent had lost that battle but he sure didn't retire from the game as promised. All in all, a little competition is healthy for the music business.
