Kayla Filoon volunteers as a dog walker at a Philadelphia animal shelter. She saw Russ, a really beat up looking stray pit bull and immediately had a connection with him.
He was in really bad shape. Russ was missing fur on his ears and tail... and was really malnourished. Kayla also knew that the shelter had to put about 15 dogs to sleep and needed to act fast if she was going to save his life. She immediately adopted Russ the following day and they have been inseparable since.
