Boston Marathon bombing survivor, Roseann Sdoia, and the firefighter who rescued her, Mike Materia, are set to marry
Roseann was standing in the crowd near the finish line when she was hit by shrapnel from the pressure-cooker bombs on April 15, 2013.
After the explosion, Mike went with Sdoia to the hospital where her mother mentioned to her, "Did you see that firefighter? He's so cute.'
Mike checked in with Sdoia, even after her leg amputation. Mike proposed to Sdoia in December of 2016 after the two started dating since June 2013.
"I do feel that, in a sense, some things happen for a reason," Sdoia said.
The couple is releasing a book in March 2017 entitled, "Perfect Strangers."
