Review: First off, I have to say that The Lunchbox is such a great romantic movie that brings you back to days of young love, no matter how old you are. A lonely housewife, Ila (Nimrat Kaur), cooks a home-cooked lunch for her negligent husband every single day, where he gets it through a delivery service. But somehow, the lunchbox gets delivered to the wrong person and lands in the stomach of Saajan (Irrfan Khan). When she finds out the mistake, Ila begins writing a series of letters, and the two start a friendship over paper. Despite living in the digital era where dating occurs online or through phone apps, the art of letter writing is embraced and utilized to enhance the chemistry between Ila and Saajan. What I enjoy most about this movie is how the two characters are able to create a very endearing relationship over something mundane like a lunchbox.

I give The Lunchbox two thumbs up. I truly believe it should have been nominated for an Oscar.
