Pop worlds collided on Thursday (March 29) when Christina Aguilera met Troye Sivan during an outing with filmmaker/photographer Luke Gilford, as per the multi-talent's Instagram Story.
Showing off a fresh face sans make-up, the 37-year-old pop vet cuddled up to the 22-year-old rising star in a black-and-white snap, leading us to wonder the reasoning for their meet-up. Are the two in talks to collaborate? Were they just hanging out with Luke and got comfy with one another?
Aguilera and Sivan might be from different generations of pop music, but that doesn’t mean that the Aussie star isn't influenced by Paper magazine’s newest cover girl. As h's made his way through the promotional circuit for his comeback single, "My My My!" the singer has cited the star’s 2002 “Dirrty” music video as the inspiration for the wet look that he’s been sporting, particularly during his January appearance on Saturday Night Live.
Earlier this week, Aguilera's cover story for Paper dropped and heard the star talk about paving the way for the newest generation of female pop stars. "Either women are not sexual enough or we're not fulfilling enough of a fantasy for you, but then if we're overtly sexual or feeling empowered in a certain kind of way, then we're shamed for it," she explained. "Madonna had to go through it in her day, and she paved the way for my generation to come up. And paying it forward, now a younger generation is coming up and I'm loving what I'm seeing. It's so incredible."
