Kendrick Lamar Shouts 'Jay For President!' At Grammys & Everyone Seconds It

Kendrick Lamar won big at the 2018 Grammys. Before the awards show even started, the rapper received three Grammys for Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, and Best Music Video for "HUMBLE." During the ceremony, Lamar won a couple more trophies including one for Best Rap Album.

Comedian Dave Chappelle did the honors of giving the DAMN. artist this award. He was facing stiff competition in the category and Lamar knew it. Other nominees were JAY-Z's 4:44; Migos' CultureRapsody's Laila’s Wisdom; and Tyler, The Creator's Flower Boy.

So, when he accepted his trophy for Best Rap Album, Lamar said: "[Hip-hop] is what got me on the stage, this is what got me to tour around the world. Most important it showed me what a true artist is. It's really about expressing yourself and putting that paint on the canvas for the world to evolve for the next generation and the next."

Then, while nodding and smiling to JAY-Z, Lamar said, "Jay for president!" and walked off the stage with his award. These words came after Donald Trump tweeted a response to Hov, earlier today (Jan. 28), after the rapper called him a racist "superbug" in a recent interview.

Off to the polls we go...
