Diddy Says He Was 'Only Joking' About Changing His Name To Brother Love

Diddy tweeted from the beach on Saturday (Nov. 4), saying in a video that he had decided to change his name again to "LOVE aka Brother Love."

Just kidding.

On Monday night (Nov. 6), the hip-hop mogul with the many names posted to Instagram and stated in a video -- after beginning by singing Lionel Richie's "Hello" -- "Well ladies and gentlemen, today I've come to the conclusion that you cannot play around with the internet. Due to overwhelming response from the media out there and just due there not wanting to be any confusion, I was only joking. OK? I didn't change my name. It's just part of one of my alter egos.

"One of my alter egos is love, but to set the record straight because I have a lot of press to do the next couple of weeks, you can address me by any of my older names. But if you still wanna call me love, you can call me love, baby. But I was only playing."

Even if Diddy wasn't joking, the real winner in all of this is Ellen DeGeneres who announced on Twitter that she, too, would be changing her name to the glitch iPhone iOS 11 users have been experiencing when trying to type the letter "i."
